THE PLEASURES OF COLLEGE LIFE

College life is the golden period of one's life. After spending ten years at school where a student is constantly under fear of the rod of the adhere when he enters college, he finds himself in a totally different world. Freedom and enjoyment are the keynotes of college life- is free to move with his friends. In his vacant lectures, he can go to the college’s library and study or he can sit in the canteen and have a cup of tea or a cold drink and gossip. He is free even to study at his sweet will. such pleasures one does not forget for the rest, his life.

one of the greatest pleasures of college life is the companionship of young friends. one can make friends of his choice. It is often at the college level that life-long friendships are made. Clear thinking is developed by a frank discussion on various topics of mutual interest. It gives immense pleasure when he can refute every argument. He is encouraged to read books apart from the prescribed textbooks. In this way, his knowledge, as well as circle of friends, expands and he becomes a real scholar. This saying shows the importance of college life.

College life is full. of several co-curricular activities which are a definite source of pleasure. Bazm-i-Adab, English Literary Society, Scientific Society, Debating Society, Blood Donors Society, and Fine Arts Society are functioning in every college. One can become a member of any society. He can also offer himself as a candidate for cabinet membership. In •this way 'he can be nominated as president, secretary, etc.   He can arrange various functions in the college under the guidance of the Director of that particular society. Sufficient funds will be at his disposal. He can derive pleasure by inviting students from other colleges and sitting with the Chief Guest on the stage. He can participate in functions arranged by other colleges. He can visit many important sites. Similarly, there are innumerable pleasures in college life.

Every college student is expected to take part in one game or the other. Active participation in a game is a source of pleasure. If one practices and takes a keen interest one can become a player of international fame like Imran Khan. He can earn a lot of money and enjoy life. Even if a student watches a good match he can get pleasure out of it. He can clap his hands when his friends win.

Another pleasure of being a college student is that one is respected in society. Even his family members look after his comfort. Student delegations can easily see any high official. Even the journalists listen to them and publish their demands or statements in their n newspapers. Even the opposite sex is inclined towards him or her.        

There are various types of fashions in the college which add spice to life. They visit the cinema houses as frequently as they can afford to go. It has become a fashion to talk about film actors and actresses. Everyone has his own favorite film stars.

Then there is the occasion for making a fool of a first-year student. The seniors feel a peculiar kind of joy in misleading the newcomers. In fact, college life is a constant source of higher kinds of pleasures which one should not miss to make the most of.
